Emma Steinken, DVM

Dr. Emma was originally born in Chicago, but moved to Indianapolis at the age of 5 for her father’s job. So she considers Indy her home.

As a little girl, she always enjoyed spending time with animals. From pet sitting, taking care of her own dog, riding horses, and shadowing/working at veterinary clinics, including Windermere and Sherlock Bones, Dr. Emma knew she wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age. She first obtained an undergraduate degree from Purdue University. For a scenery change, she went out to Oklahoma State University where she achieved her dream of earning her DVM degree in 2021. Right after graduation she moved back home to be close to family again, and started working in emergency medicine. In 2025, she decided to switch to General Practice.

In her free time, Dr. Emma likes to read, hike, lift weights or workout, spend time with her nephew and family, and cuddle with her best friend, Tucker, or take him to the dog park.
